So Florida has been hosting some pretty odd fan conventions lately. Things
like cartoon magical martial artists and science fiction television of the
seventies. We don't exactly get it - but if it's on the Internet, it must
be cool... so we want in, too! So Duplisity is hosting the
Name Your Own Convention Mini-Convention Contest. Here's how it works.
- Come up with a convention idea that mixes two fandoms that just don't
seem to match up. For example:
-Neon Genesis Evangelion
+ The Golden Girls
-Sailor Moon +
Knight Rider
-Jayce & The Wheeled Warriors
+ Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition
(note: you can't use any of our AWESOME examples... sorry.)
- Post your idea and why you think it would work on the Wasabi Anime

That's right folks: a convention culture podcast hosting a mini-convention
inside another convention. Wrap your brain around that one for a while.
DEADLINE: Angie & Chris will post choose the winner one week the Friday
before JACON (May 9th) and post it on the forums.
THE PRIZE: We'll produce your event! Come to the mini-convention
Saturday night/Sunday morning at 1:00 AM
in Chibi Events (Paradise IV) at JACON 2008. We'll have viewings, a
panel, and other swag just like an actual convention.
